Then they will leave this plane of existence, then the entire group of Nie Li's friends will each go to different super-mega-sects in the upper dimension. (The real world!) Nie Li will then start at the absolute bottom again. Then take over the sect, then fucking raid the sect with his women in it and take them both as his wives....only another thousand more chapters or so to get there iirc.

2 more? hard to say how far they can get with only 2 more. There is a heck of a lot more story to get to...well before the author decided to just say "fuck it!" and only do chapter updates for his other story "Star God Martial Technique"...so far this is still only just the very beginning of TDG.
And while SGMT is pretty good, TDG is (in my opinion) much, much better. But the damn author just got bored with it and gave up.

Its been about 4 or 5 years since I read the novel so I went back to wuxiaworld to check the chapters. Grandpa Ye Mo shows up in chapter 207 so this episode should be around chapter 209 "Father & Son" - the author's name is: "Mad Snail" and he is fucking notorious and the name is rather apropos because he puts out chapters at a snails pace and it makes everyone mad! The total chapters I could find on wuxiaworld currently number 496 and Mad Snail was putting out new chapters at a snails pace of 1 chapter per month for a couple of years. Actually ch. 496 has been up for a year with no new chapters, so maybe the author just frigging quit?! I wrote a spoiler above if you want to know where the general story is going to be going forward. (hint: mc & his group will soon be leaving this planet.) Based on the total number of chapters rather than say "This is still the beginning" you could argue that we are well under way...but we really are not. You would know what I mean if you read the novel. The problem is that TDG was the 1st novel of this kind for a large number of English readers like me. Its actually pretty damn good and you really do care about the characters, so he does a pretty good job till he got bored I guess. Based on the plot, the current number of chapters at 496 should likely be roughly half of the story.

For many TDG was our very 1st introduction to Wuxia novels. Probably because lots of us were watching anime and then reading a lot of manga and suddenly TDG manga shows up. There were not a lot of chapters to the manga and I heard it was a novel so I found it online somewhere and read it. After that I read Peerless Martial God for the same reason. The rest is history. Fast forward to today I have read countless chapters of who knows how many wuxia/xianxia novels. Many of them like PMG with thousands of chapters. After a while you start to see all the same tropes, over and over again. TDG pisses me off still to this day, because it was one of the more interesting and original ones and also at times hilariously funny.
